Data Import Intern

The PrivacyPerfect team has extensive experience in building innovative legal cloud services. The team operates from the heart of Rotterdam and continuously develops the PrivacyPerfect privacy governance and data mapping tool to meet our customers’ needs. With a thorough knowledge of European and national privacy legislation, the team connects state of the art IT solutions with the practical tasks of privacy officers.

Our customers vary from large corporate companies to small non-profit organisations, and everything in between. They are looking for an easy-to-use privacy compliance tool to support their privacy governance. We offer that tool – it is called PrivacyPerfect. In order to further develop our business in and beyond the European Union, we are currently looking for a person who can support the data alignment and import into our tool.

Some background: often our customers use Excel as an inventory tool for their processing activities. And in the future, they are likely to use different systems with varying data models. We then get the request to import their data into our tool. That still requires manual intervention, in terms of:

  • Mapping fields in the source data to fields in our system
  • Data quality checks (special characters, upper case/lower case etc.)
  • Tweaking API calls to our system in order to get the data where they belong, in the right order to facilitate internal dependencies

For this position, you need to fulfil the following requirements:

  • Independent and accurate
  • Always testing the results of your own activities
  • Open to an informal organisation culture
  • Very familiar with databases and scripting languages - we really don't mind what kind of scripting language you use if it's common and safe to use (like PHP)

The goal of the internship is to develop, test and document a tool that will help our support department in uploading customer data. The tool should enable basic data quality checks and mapping source to target fields, using a basic graphical user interface.

While building this tool, you'll also get acquainted with our SaaS product based on cutting edge graph database and continuous deployment technology. We think that this internship is suitable for an (under)graduate in informatics (higher education).

What we offer:

  • Supporting and witnessing an exciting scaling up company with an international team
  • Working at a central location in Rotterdam (Blaak) in a wonderful office building
  • A internship remuneration
  • Flexible working hours

If you want more information or want to apply for this vacancy, please submit een brief cover letter (an accompanying explanation of your motivation) and cv to this internship vacancy at Indeed.

Back end/Devops Engineer - Scala, Kubernetes

At PrivacyPerfect, we are building tools to help organisations comply with the new European privacy regulation: the GDPR. Our team works from the heart of Rotterdam, where we combine our extensive knowledge of the legal domain with state of the art technology to develop our SaaS-based toolset. This results in advanced solutions offered to the privacy professionals that work at our customers, which include many types of organisations across the EU.

We are looking for somebody to join our technical team. Keywords:

  • Microservices, Scala, akka-http

  • Graph database

  • Open source

  • Kubernetes

  • Scalability

If you would like to work on a fast-growing system, with a potentially huge customer base in a highly motivated and demanding environment in the centre of Rotterdam: then we are interested.

We are looking for somebody to work on:

  • Application development, in co-operation with our offshore development team. Ideally, you would be able to guide the work of the offshore team

  • Devops stuff - we are responsible for the continuity of the services offered to our customers. Working with an external company for the infrastructure, our tech team takes care of that continuity, and is constantly looking for improvements in that area

That means we need a person with quite a bunch of skills:

  • Scala and microservices

  • If you know your stuff around front-end dev, that would help as well (ReactJS)

  • Great analytical mind
